Ride-Tech Shock Service

Shock Service

Ryde FX, Fox, ACT, Walker Evans, HPG

* Racing, riding, and working on thousands of shocks have gave us 36 plus years of combined shock experience in all types of conditions.

* Parts inventory; to rebuild, revalve, and/or replace damaged parts.

* All shocks need regular service to give top performance. Long travel suspensions put maximum load on shocks which creates heat; this heat buildup causes oil breakdown and condensation, regardless of shock brand. Basic service will flush out these contaminants. refill with a high quality synthetic oil, and bring back ride level.

Basic service includes complete flush and inspection of internals, synthetic shock oil, nitrogen charge, and labor. Parts are extra; to save you money only worn parts are replaced (if it ain’t broke, we don’t fix it).

Basic Service:

Fox /Ryde FX  $38 or $130/set of 4
HPG/Walker Evans $40 or $135/set of 4
Remote Reservoir or Fox Float: $43
Clicker or Position Sensitive: $43
Quick Adjust Front Track: $55
Cat Cross Link Rear: $110
Polaris PPS upgrade mod $90
Revalving: $18
Seal/shaft replacement: $18

NOTE: Turn time is about 3-5 days.

Recommended shock service intervals. The most important oil change is the initial one and is best done at 800 - 1,000 miles to flush out the break-in oil and metal shavings, from this point on a regular service schedule should be followed. Condensation forms in a shock from the heat generated when riding, water sucking past the seals with shaft movement and temp changes. This along with metal contamination from piston movement and general oil breakdown results in a watery sludge which does not produce consistent valving or long shock life. We recommend that all shocks have a service oil change yearly or every 1,500 to 2,000 miles. Easy trail cruisers may push a bit longer on the intervals but aggressive to moderate riders can increase shock life and maintain a better ride with regular service.

Ride-Tech Stage Kits

Real World Suspension Technology for Todays Sleds

*Staged kits to match a riders style and weight to the type of terrain ridden.

*All 4 shocks are fully serviced with progressive valving modifications done to improve and control shock action with selected spring rates. Send shocks only, we do not require the springs to be sent. This saves weight and postage. Be sure to print off Ride Tech Service Form (see bottom of this page) and include with your shocks, this will give us the info we need to best setup your shocks.

*For complete info and pricing:

Go to Products, then Performance, then Suspension, and finally click on your Brand. This will list pricing and further details about these #1 rated Stage Kits.

RIDE Tech Stage1: Usually done for heavy and/or slightly aggressive riders but is also a great option for slower or lightweight riders. Basic shock service is performed and the valving is changed to meet rider’s style and weight. Remember all components must work together and this is no substitute for a balanced package of heavier or lighter springs and valving.

RIDE Tech Stage 2: Our most popular package includes set-up of both front and rear end for a balanced package. We will service and revalve all 4 shocks; and send required springs or blocks with instructions for proper suspension set-up. All packages are custom designed and do not necessarily contain the same parts. We only use and install parts that are needed to get desired ride and handling. (Note: for riders over 225 pounds Stage 2 Plus may be necessary, call for details). This Stage improves handling with more precise front end control in the stutter bumps, sharper cornering, and less ski lift.  The back end gives a smooth ride yet can still resist bottoming in the big hits for a better ride everywhere, washboard corners to whooped out trails.

RIDE Tech Stage 2 Plus: The Plus is for those riders who need a bit more spring/valving than the regular Stage 2. If you are big boned, more aggressive than normal, carry a few extra pounds, or some combination this may be the Kit for you. We will include all of Stage 2, PLUS an extra spring or heavy duty springs and additional valving to match. Firms it up without getting into race only Stage 3.

RIDE Tech Stage 3: This package is for super aggressive riders who spend their time looking for the biggest drifts and roughest terrain they can find. This package sacrifices some of the low speed ride and handling of sled but offers the most resistance to bottoming. We will service and revalve all 4 shocks; and send required replacement springs or blocks with instructions for proper suspension set-up. All packages are custom designed and do not necessarily contain the same parts. We only use and install parts that are needed to get the desired ride and handling.
