RIDE TECH Shock Service ACT, Fox, HPG, Ryde FX, Walker Evans *Racing, riding, and working on thousands of shocks has given us 36 plus years of combined shock experience in all types of conditions. *All shocks need regular service to give top performance. Long travel suspensions put maximum load on shocks which creates heat; this heat buildup causes oil breakdown and condensation, regardless of shock brand. Basic service will flush out these contaminants and bring back ride level. *Suspension and clutching are the two most important things to improve your sled’s performance. When shipping shocks, include Ride Tech Shock Service Form which can be downloaded from this page (see blue box in RH column).
Basic Service: *Complete drain and flush of shock. *Inspect internals for damage or wear. *Re-assemble and set IFP height. *Refill with our synthetic shock oil. *Pressure charge with nitrogen. *Labor, oil, nitrogen included, parts (o-rings, bands, seals) are extra. *To save You money only worn parts are replaced; if it isn't broke, we don't fix it.
SAVE 10% on set of 4!!! Standard Shock: $38Remote Reservoir or Air Shock: $40 Reservoir/Clicker or Position Sensitive: $45 Seal/shaft replacement or revalve: $20 Quick Adjust Front Track (Cat): $60 Cat Cross Link Rear: $125 Polaris PPS upgrade mod: $95 See Ride-Tech Stage Kits for complete suspension packages!
Recommended Shock Service Intervals Regular service gives consistent ride and handling plus extends shock life. All shocks produce sludge from condensation, water seeping past the seal/shaft, contamination from internal friction, and oil breakdown. An initial oil change (best if done in first 1,000 miles) is the most important to flush out the break-in oil and metal shavings, then followed with a regular service schedule. We find that all shocks need a basic service oil change yearly or every 1,500 to 2,000 miles. Easy trail cruisers may push a bit longer on the intervals, moderate trail riders should use this recommended schedule, high performance riders need yearly service, and aggressive riders may need twice a year to keep shock performance at top levels.
RIDE TECH Stage Kits Includes shock service, valving, and parts for a complete suspension package! *Stage kits match rider’s style and weight with type of terrain ridden. *All 4 shocks are serviced with re-valving mods that match shock to selected spring rates. *Kits may not contain the same parts, only needed items for proper results. *Kits are average base priced and may vary slightly with model/year.
RIDE Tech Stage 1: A basic re-valve option for riders who are a bit heavier or lighter and are looking for a small adjustment in ride performance. Includes basic shock service and re-valving to match rider’s style and weight. Stage 1 is fine for tuning and will not prevent bottoming unless proper springs are matched to valving. A matched package of springs and valving will give a better ride and help prevent excessive shock wear or failure.
RIDE Tech Stage 2: This is our best package for most riders; all 4 shocks get basic shock service, re-valving, required replacement springs/couplers/overloads/shafts, and set-up instructions. Stage 2 improves handling with more precise front end control in the stutter bumps, sharper cornering, and less ski lift. The rear end will smooth out the ripples and will still resist bottoming in the big hits for a better ride everywhere; from washboard corners to whooped out trails. Riders over 230 pounds may need Stage 2 Plus. RIDE Tech Stage 2 Plus: The Plus is for those riders who need a bit more spring/valving than the regular Stage 2. If you are bigger, more aggressive, carry a few extra pounds, or a combination of these; this may be the Kit for you. We will include Stage 2, PLUS an extra spring or heavy duty springs with additional valving to match. Firms it up without getting into race only Stage 3.
RIDE Tech Stage 3: This package is for the hardcore riders who hit the biggest drifts or attack the roughest terrain. This package sacrifices some low speed ride and handling of sled but offers the most resistance to bottoming. We will include Stage 2 Plus with extra valving and parts to stiffen up suspension action for these hard core riders. This is the Stage we use on our race sleds for high speed, bump control. Stage 1 Stage 2 Stage 2+ Stage 3 Arctic Cat $240 $385 $425 $490 Polaris $240 $399 $445 $499 Ski-doo $240 $385 $425 $490 Yamaha $160 set of ski Fox Floaters
