Ride-Tech Shock Service
Ryde FX, Fox, ACT, Walker Evans, HPG
Racing,
riding, and working on thousands of shocks have given us over 30 years of
combined shock experience in almost all types of conditions. We have a complete
parts inventory. We can rebuild, re-valve, or replace damaged parts.
All shocks
need regular service to give top performance. Long travel suspensions create a
lot of shock movement and heat. This heat buildup causes oil breakdown and
condensation, regardless of shock brand.
Shock
Service: $35/shock, $116/set of 4 shocks
Service
includes complete flush and inspection of internals, synthetic shock oil,
nitrogen charge and labor. Parts are extra. We only replace worn parts to save
you money. Prices are for standard shocks. Extra services and/or servicing
non-standard shocks are as follows:
Re-valving: $15/shock
Seal/shaft replacement: $15
Remote Reservoir or Fox Float: $40
Clicker or Position Sensitive: $40
Cat Quick Adjust Front Track: $55
Cat Cross Link Rear: $110

When
should I service my shocks?
We recommend the following service schedule to keep your shocks in top
condition, of course there are variables such as how aggressive a rider is and
what type of terrain is traveled.
*Racer: 2-4
times per season.
*Ride Whenever
Possible Trail Rider: once a year or
every 1,500 miles.
*Warm Weather
Only Trail Rider: every other year or
2,000 miles.
*Wannabe Bench
Rider: This rider will most likely never service his shocks as he won’t spend
any money on preventative maintenance or try to improve his ride. He wonders why
he bounces through the whoops not realizing his sled could have been better. If
you fit this category, you can click elsewhere on this website for something
that will fill your need for performance.
Ride-Tech Stage Kits
Real World Suspension
Technology for Today’s Sleds
*Staged kits to
match a rider’s style and weight to the
type of terrain ridden.
*Shocks are fully serviced
with progressive valving
modifications done to improve and control shock
movement with selected spring rates.
*All four shocks are set up
to give a balanced ride.
RIDE
Tech Stage
1: Heavy and/or slightly
aggressive riders can push the standard stock settings and sometimes need a
little more bottoming resistance. We perform our basic shock service to all 4
shocks and change the valving for a slightly stiffer ride. Remember all
components must work together and this is no substitute for heavier springs and
valving.
RIDE
Tech Stage 2: Our
most popular package includes set-up of both front and rear end for a balanced
package. More precise front end control with the rear giving a smooth ride yet
resists bottoming for those unexpected holes. Better everywhere, from washboard
corners to chopped out trails. Send in all 4 shocks with rider’s weight,
make/model/year of sled, type of riding, and any complaints of your present
set-up. We will service and revalve all shocks; and send any needed replacement
springs or blocks and instructions for proper suspension set-up with tuning
tips. All packages are custom designed and do not necessarily contain the same
parts. We only use and install parts that are needed to get desired ride and
handling. (Note: for riders over 225 pounds Stage 2 Plus may be necessary, call
for details). This Stage will improve handling with a smoother ride in the
stutter bumps, sharper cornering, and less ski lift.
RIDE
Tech Stage 2 Plus:
New this season for those riders who need a bit
more spring/valving than the regular Stage 2. This will be for those riders, who
are big boned, more aggressive than normal, carry a few extra pounds, or some
combination of these factors. We will include all of Stage 2, PLUS an extra
spring or heavy duty springs and the additional valving to match. Whatever it
takes to bring this Stage to the next level without getting into race only Stage
3.
RIDE
Tech Stage 3:
This package is for super aggressive riders who spend their time looking for the
biggest drifts and roughest terrain they can find. This package sacrifices the
low speed ride and handling of sled but offers the most resistance to bottoming.
We will need all 4 shocks with rider’s weight, make/model/year of sled, type of
riding, and what is wrong with your present set-up. We will service and revalve
all shocks; and send needed replacement springs or blocks and instructions for
proper suspension set-up with tuning tips. All packages are custom designed and
do not necessarily contain the same parts. We only use and install parts that
are needed to get the desired ride and handling.
